Take a chill....Phil

Let me take you back a day or so to a little restraunt called Applebee's.....Lee, myself and my son Dylan are watching baseball game while eating dinner because Leah is at class and that's what the fellas do. During which I make the comment......if they win tonite we should go to the game tomorrow.....and so a great idea was born, and an epic night began. Finishing watch the game that night at home.....the Twins win....ok...we are gonna go, this should be fun....electric even. Now I am not going to lie, this was going to be the first game I have gone to all season.....I have been offered free tickets before and turned them down, but we knew this night would be special because of the game. So I recruit my guy from the day job as I like to refer to it....KT, and it's on like (submit your favorite phrase here). The night begins with us meet at the MOA (mall of american, mega mall, that huge place that nobody from the TC shops at whatever you wanna call it) to catch the light rail up to the Dome, after seeing that there was about 5000 people waiting to do that, and being the math whizzes that we are, we decided to just drive up the MPLS and pay for parking as the parking would be equal to the cost of the three of us riding the light rail......(I guess we didn't want to figure in the gas it would cost....like I said math whizzes). Did I mention it was 6 oclock....yeah there was some traffic, so I say forget the interstate and take it to the city streets. As we get up into the city, we are looking for a place to park and I got to tell you it is reasonable to park for twins game....really pretty close. During a Vikes game these same ramps would be 15 or 20 dollars....tonite they are 6 or 8. But Lee tells us he knows where free parking is....at his uncle's house about a mile away....so not to come off as lazy bastards who can't walk a mile.....we all kinda look at each other and say ok $6 = Tall Draft.....yeah let's walk. Until we drive 4 miles and finally arrive at Lee's uncle's house.....not exactly a mile.....and not really walking distance.....so we drive all the way back and park in the ramp we were going to anyway before the thought of FREE parking and a mile walk turned into FREE parking and a cab ride back. At this point we are pretty jacked.....we know this is going to be an awesome game, but next the hurdle of picking up the tickets.....will call is a bitch, pay the extra 2 bucks and print em off.....really it's worth it. So we finally pick up the tickets, and get up in the game. So if you don't know, pretty much the entire upper deck is general admission, but on a busy night like last night, seats were hard to come by, unless you went up to the topish area. So we get up there with our beverages and food, out in right field and the Twins jump out to an early lead.....by the way is it just me or could the Twins jersey be any more appropriately named and designed for a female to wear.....I don't care where you are from ....we are all fans of the twins if you know what I mean. So we get through the first three innings and we decide shit it's general admission let's move around and get a different view..........on the way we hit the concourse for another round of beverages and food and walk to left field.......we look up damn there is nothing.....go a couple of more corridors down and we take a peak...not seeing anything I hear Lee say.....just follow me to the top, so like a good sheep I do.......the top of the dome is a long walk....up.....and all I see is people..and no empty seats. We get up like 4 rows from the top and start going across an row of seats and I come to a decision......as Lee has lead us directly to a POLE.....that's right general admission and Lee selects the obstructed view seats.....I was laughing my ass off......now if we had been smart enough to remember the whole free parking at my uncle's a mile away we probably could have seen this coming...lol. Never the less some people move and we find ourselves up at the very top next to the big rafter thing that is great for pounding on and making a scene....perfect. By now the twins are down 6-1, but they just put a few runs on the board and they are starting to mount a semi comeback. Now there was a lot of alcohol being consumed at this game....not by us so much but that group down there to our left passing the travler back and forth taking pulls....oh yeah and these douche bags that had moved up two rows to be directly below us and were really drunk, obscene and for some odd reason could keep thier damn attention on the field....instead us and the wall behind us became more interesting......so I had to ask......"can I help you with something patna....(you know like partner...but better)" He starts fumbling his drunk words and I conviently tell him to shut the fuck up and turn around. To which he gets upset....I can't blame him, I would let someone talk to me like that either....by know he is standing up and talking all kinds of shit, and Lee and I are just laughing and him and pointing at him, and making a total mockery of him. He continues to promise me all the things he will do to me, and I can't help but tell him that I am a man standing right here and if he wants to do something we can tussle from the top of the dome to the front entrance, I ain't afraid to go knuckle up with some drunk bastard while I am sobering trying to enjoy the game....if I was drunk he probably would have already recieved the old 1-2. His friends are telling him to shut up and sit down, and the usual girl moderator was putting a calm on the situation, and now standing in the row below us and while he was now one row lower still talking shit and making gestures at me....I guess he was getting more angry as I was blowing him kisses by now......the real same here is one, he would have gotten his ass beat and probably thrown down about three rows of but the chick that was with them, was a real baseball fan and wanted to watch the game, but because of this incident they left so that dude didn't end up in the ER. What a perfect time for them to leave as now we could turn out attention back to the game and the twins were really trying to make a game out of this thing......
This was also when I realized that I was standing next to a huge rafter....and I was fired up so I started pounding on it....and it turned into a rally cry for the whole section.......before you knew it the twins were tied, the whole section was looking to us to get the loud pound going and we made about 6 new friends that were glad we told those drunk bastard to shut the hell up as apparently they were bothering other people....so the Dome was alive!!! Before you knew it....the damn twins pulled it off and won the game and people were jumping around giving high fives......dancing, drinking, pounding on shit and it was amazing. I am a big sports fan and this was by far the most amazing sporting event I have ever been to. It was a roller coaster of emtions and I loved it! So now we walked back to the car and got stuck in traffic for and hour and forty five mins....it was great.....I hated it. But this is all why I live in this place.....traffic is a needed evil and we can't avoid it, but being able to go to the game on a whim....watch an amazing sporting event, and have an electric night.....it's the best. So what have we learned today.....KT and myself are not math whizzes.......Don't follow Lee unless you know where he is going and what he is doing......and don't pound on the rafters for an hour...your hands will swell up.

Go Twins.....
Go TC......
and you go drunk guy........go your ass home, get some rest and try to enjoy the damn game next time and think about the nice young lady you bring to the game and respect the fact that she might actually like to watch it and not have to baby sit your drunk ass.........
